How Lakewood Education Foundation supports students and staff
Scholarships: Graduating LHS seniors can apply for scholarships from LEF through the Local Scholarship Portfolio. The link for the Portfolio is on the LHS Career Center website.
Educator Grants: Teachers and support staff are encouraged to submit requests for funding in areas of need. LEF has provided funding for classroom activities and enhancements, professional staff development, field trips, literacy at all levels, and much more. Grants are available to Lakewood staff across the district.
Care Fund: Designated funds are used to help students with personal support and emergent needs. LEF has funded eyeglasses, dental visits, clothing, student field trips, yearbooks and more. Care Fund requests are open for submission from staff across the district.

The Lakewood Education Foundation (LEF) proudly supports a variety of scholarships that celebrate academic achievement, personal character, and community involvement within the Lakewood School District:

LWSD Principals Scholarship – Recognizes students who demonstrate leadership, integrity, and active engagement in school life, as nominated by district principals/assistant principals.

Kathleen Austad Memorial Scholarship – Honors the legacy of Kathleen Austad by supporting students who embody compassion, perseverance, and a love of learning.

Lakewood Lifer Scholarship – Awarded to students who have attended Lakewood schools continuously from kindergarten through senior year, celebrating their long-term commitment to the district.

LEF Scholarship – A general scholarship funded by the Foundation to assist Lakewood graduates pursuing higher education.

Joey Dettrich Baseball Foundation Scholarship – Supports baseball and/or softball student-athletes who exemplify sportsmanship, teamwork, and dedication to baseball, in memory of Joey Dettrich.

LEF Staff Retirement Scholarship – Funded by retired Lakewood staff members, this scholarship honors their legacy by investing in future graduates.

Steve Boyce Memorial Scholarship – Pays tribute to Steve Boyce by recognizing students who reflect his values of kindness, service, and community engagement with the intent to pursue a career in education.
Eligibility Disclosure - All scholarships listed above are available only to students who attend Lakewood High School and are part of the graduating class for the respective scholarship year.
